I have been a proud member of Guardians of the Children, Sun City Chapter for 5 years. It’s the reason I started riding. GOC is an international non-profit group of bikers who advocate for and empower abused children. We go to court with kids when they have to testify, and they become a part of our biker family until they turn 18 or decide they no longer want to stay with us. With Guardians I have done multiple anti-bullying presentations at schools and with certain organization that request us. We’ve worked alongside other child advocacy agencies such as the Child Crisis Center, CPS, and the Center Against Sexual and Family Violence. We’ve witnessed and heard some heartbreaking stories from kids themselves, especially in the courtroom. As hard as it can be to hear sometimes, it is empowering to know that we can help them. And even though I started as an advocate, I found an extended family with my biker brothers and sisters. Now next time you see the patch, you know.
